Chakra means "wheel." It is a vortex of energy which when unlocked supports the cultivation of a happier, healthier and more meaningful life. Though there are 114 minor chakras in the body, there are 7 major chakras held within the central spinal energy channel- sushumna.
We will focus on how our chakras develop in childhood, various personality patterns and pain points that arise due to trauma and imbalance, and finally how we can align them as adults.
We will begin by learning about the basis of the chakras, the human energy body comprised of chakras, nadis and vayus. Then we will experience each chakra through information, movement, meditation, breathwork and self-reflection exercises.
Students will walk away with practical application points both physically and psychologically. This workshop will primarily draw from three texts: Eastern Body Western Mind by Anodea Judith, Anatomy of the Spirit by Caroline Miss and Meditation as Medicine by Dharma Singh Kalsa, M.D.
