Maria began practicing Yoga in 2016 out of curiosity. Having a background in social work, yoga proved to be an outlet for staying centered and being more present not only during the practice, but in every aspect of her life. As her practice deepened, she noticed the changes it caused in her relationships with others, work, and herself. She strives to live Yoga on and off the mat, keeping in mind it is always a practice.
Having reaped some of the rewards that Yoga offers, Maria has become passionate about sharing it with others. She believes that every person and every body can reap the benefits of yoga if only they start the practice. To that affect, she completed her 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training in August of 2019. A student at heart, she is looking forward to continuing her education in order to deepen her own life and to share it with those around her. She loves to create dynamic sequences that connect the strength of the mind and the body when united through the breath.
Maria loves to explore, travel, and meet new people. She has a Bachelor’s in social work and is an amateur photographer on the side. She is currently expecting her first baby in November, and has become fascinated with how asana can help and how it has to be modified for women who are expecting - and how flexible yoga can be to fit every lifestyle .
