From Yogi Bhajan's The Mind, "The mind is a vast, autonomic mechanism that processes thoughts and sensations. It is so powerful that we say, if you conquer your mind, you can conquer the world. But your mind is constantly in motion. It has no base or fundamental reality on its own. Without any effort on your part, it produces every kind of thought. In order to stop the emotional games and mental intrigues, it requires your direction. To be truly happy you must develop a consistent attitude of human life in which you can excel above time and space and use your mind at the frequency of your soul."

This eight week course will explore the 27 projections, or personalities of the mind and 81 facets which branch from these 27 projections. This philosophy is based on a combination of Sankhya philosophy and the three functional minds. Through this course you will learn:

  • The basis of Yoga philosophy including Sankhya and the three gunas.

  • Positive, Negative and Neutral Minds.

  • Manas, Ahamkara, Buddhi.

  • Meditation practices for each mind projection.

  • A practical application of the eight limbs of Ashtanga Yoga, or humanology, the applied psychology of human excellence.

  • How to become your mind's friend and director and not its slave.
